1. Once a rider selects a specific Timbersled system, what else will they need?

Brock: For someone who is new to owning a Timbersled, the most confusing part of the process is understanding the install kit. The install kit is needed to “adapt” the Timbersled system onto the host bike, and therefore, is model-specific to which bike the system will be installed on. There are a few different options. The Fixed Strut, which is our basic, and our TSS – or Timbersled Suspension Strut. We have very detailed fitment tables that indicate where everything goes based on the model they’re riding. So, while I say “confusing,” we actually can make it simple to understand what is needed, get the correct install kit, and answer any questions regarding installation.

2. How difficult is the installation process?

Brock: There are three components: the host bike [your dirt bike], the Timbersled system, and an install kit. The average do-it-yourself bike owner can put a conversion kit on in approximately 2.5 hours with basic hand tools – no special tools required. Dale: I consider it easy. Installation is straightforward, as long as you’ve got some tools. You don’t need a real high mechanical ability. No specialized tools are required, just basic hand tools. And the install process has gotten easier and easier as the systems have improved. We try to design these systems so you don’t have to do any modifications to the bike or use special tools.
